At NOA, we believe that education and innovation go hand in hand. Therefore, we actively participate in international research projects and encourage student and lecturer mobility. We create solutions for the future of global transport, smart cities, and green logistics.

Research and Development

Our research efforts are focused on solving real challenges in the modern logistics industry. Through close cooperation with the economy, we transfer theoretical knowledge directly into practice.

Key research areas:

Sustainable mobility and green transition: Exploring environmentally friendly transport solutions, optimizing urban traffic, and reducing the carbon footprint in supply chains.
Digitalization and smart logistics: Integration of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and automation (IoT) into warehousing and distribution processes.
Optimization of international supply chains: Development of strategic models for greater resilience and efficiency of global logistics flows.

International mobility and the Erasmus+ program

Expand your horizons, gain invaluable international experience, and improve your employability in the global job market. As a NOA student, you have an exceptional opportunity to study or work abroad.

Erasmus+ programme

The Erasmus+ program allows you to complete part of your study obligations at one of our partner institutions in Europe or opt for practical training in a foreign company.

Study exchange abroad: Spend a semester or an entire academic year at a partner university abroad. The credit points (ECTS) you earn are fully recognized at NOA.
Internship abroad: Gain practical experience in a renowned international logistics or transport company anywhere in Europe.
Financial support (Erasmus+ scholarship): During the exchange or internship period, you receive a monthly scholarship to help cover the costs of living abroad.

Did you know? More than 80% of world trade is based on international logistics. Experience from abroad and knowledge of foreign languages are your biggest advantage when it comes to employment in international corporations.

International research project SEE-GL (Green Logistics)

The SEE-GL (Skills and Employment Enhancement in Green Logistics) project is an Erasmus+ capacity building initiative aimed at transforming vocational education and training in the transport logistics sector in the Western Balkans.

In the period from January 2025 to December 2026, the project connects organizations from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Montenegro in co-creating an innovative vocational education curriculum based on the principles of environmental, social and governance (ESG).

By equipping logistics professionals with modern skills for the green transition, the SEE-GL project strengthens both environmental outcomes and employment opportunities in the region. More than just an educational program, this initiative represents a commitment to building a sustainable and more successful future for transport logistics in the Western Balkans.

Problem-based learning 2025/26

NOA has successfully obtained funding for the "Development of an interactive onboarding application for Slovenian and international truck drivers in Slovenian transport companies" within the framework of the European Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027.

The project addresses a key challenge in the transport sector, standardization and optimization of driver induction in Slovenian transport companies, with a special focus on the integration of an international workforce. An advanced progressive web application (PWA) will be developed, which will enable the efficient transfer of key knowledge and competencies to new drivers through multilingual interactive content adapted for mobile devices.

The project involves students from the International Logistics Management and Sustainable Mobility and Logistics study programs from the NOA College, as well as students from the Multimedia program from the Faculty of Applied Social Studies. The interdisciplinary nature of the project enables synergy between the professional fields of logistics, multimedia production, and the legal profession.

Cooperation with the economy and non-economic sector

The operation is carried out in close cooperation with partner transport companies and the Turjak Institute, which provides expert support in the field of legal compliance. Through problem-based learning, students will gain practical experience in a real work environment, which will contribute to their better preparation for entering the job market.

The project includes content related to the green transition, such as eco-driving, transport optimization, and preparation for alternative fuel technologies, which contributes to sustainable mobility in the transport sector.

The operation runs from October 2025 to August 2026 and is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) under Policy Objective 4: A more social and inclusive Europe to implement the European Pillar of Social Rights.
